Chief Bryan LaCivita and the Raynham Fire Department would like to congratulate the department’s three Massachusetts Fire Academy graduates.
Raynham Firefighters Tyler Carey, Salvatore Imprescia and Anthony LaCivita graduated from the Massachusetts Fire Academy’s Career Firefighter Recruit Class #BW25 during a ceremony at the Department of Fire Services Bridgewater Campus on Friday, June 16.
Firefighters Carey, Imprescia and LaCivita were among the 24 firefighters from 15 fire departments to graduate from the Academy’s Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program Class #BW20.
“Firefighters Carey, Imprescia and LaCivita represented the Town of Raynham and Raynham Fire to the highest degree during their training,” Chief LaCivita said. “We are proud of their accomplishments and welcome them back to the department.”
Firefighter Carey previously served as a call firefighter before joining the department full-time in July 2019. His family has a deep history of service to the Town of Raynham with his grandfather previously serving as the highway surveyor and member of the Board of Selectmen, and his father currently working for the sewer department.
During his time at the academy, Firefighter Carey received the Richard N. Bangs Award which recognizes a recruit who demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence during the academy. He’s assigned to Group 3.
Firefighter Imprescia, a Raynham native, also served the department as a call firefighter for several years until he was appointed as a full-time firefighter in July 2019. Throughout his time with the department, he has continuously displayed an eagerness to learn and represented himself as a true professional. He’s assigned to Group 2.
Firefighter LaCivita served as a call firefighter for a year before being hired full-time in August 2021. He is a Stoughout native that recently moved to Raynham. Since joining the department, he has gone above and beyond what is expected of him. During his time in the academy, he served as the class spokesman and delivered remarks at the graduation ceremony. He’s assigned to Group 4.
The program teaches the essentials of fire and non-fire conditions, life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack. Firefighters Carey, Imprescia and LaCivita are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.
The graduating firefighters of Class #BW25 represent the fire departments of Barnstable, Bridgewater, Chatham, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Eastham, Framingham, Hingham, Norwell, Peabody, Raynham, Rockland, Seekonk, Wellfleet, and Whitman.
